The Gold Coast Video Camera Club caters for both local members and correspondent
members living in Australia
and New Zealand. Monthly video assignments are set for
members. These monthly assignments challenge members to create a four minute video
to a set title or a longer video that can be any length
up to ten minutes, made on a given subject.
Both the video makers and viewers enjoy the assignments.
Workshops are conducted for members on all aspects of video making. . These workshops may
be conducted
at a different location and
on a different edit system each month.
Two club meetings are held each month. These are on the 2nd and 4th
Wednesday's of every month
(including December and January).
The club meets at the Mudgeeraba Primary School on Old
Coach Road, Mudgeeraba
at 7.15 p.m. The meetings usually don't finish until
after 10.00 p.m.
An outing is usually arranged every month, this is as
much a social occasion as an
opportunity for enthusiasts to use their cameras. We have
a lot of fun on these trips.
We have even been known to book three or four rooms and
fill them with club members
for up to a week in various locations on the East Coast
of Australia.
There is one major club competition held in June/July
each year which is known as the
Alvin Award. A clay sculpture of "Alvin" is the
trophy and is very much treasured
by the winner. A second competition is with the single topic
"Nature" and this is held in November each year.
Membership is only $40 per year for a single member or couple.
In addition local members pay a one-off joining fee of
$25.00.
